Hi, I'm One of Those Crazy Old Cat Ladies

I like the all black kitties because they're often the last ones to be adopted and they're every bit as affectionate and spunky as the other breeds.

That’s the exact reason I’ve always had black cats. There’s even a sign up in my local shelter asking people to give them a chance. So sad, they are wonderful but overlooked due to the ‘pretty’ cats it seems most people want.

It's the old and silly supersition about black cats bringing bad luck. It's amazing how some people will cling to old, archaic ways of thinking. My black kitty brought nothing but joy to me. Black kitties are every bit as beautiful. #blackcatsmatter.

I couldn't agree more! I love all my kitties but our Zachary was a 1 in a million special kitty, such personalilty, intelligence and so affectionate. We got him from the SPCA Rescue. I was looking for a playful kitten to entice our older overweight cat to play. While I was trying to chose from the big wall of cages, my husband was in the far corner with his arms crossed over his chest standing in front of a cage with a sign that said, "THIS CAT HATES MEN. MALE ATTENDANTS DO NOT TOUCH."

Of course, I wanted them all so I was taking a long time trying to chose. Then I looked back at my husband who had this one cradled in his arms lovin ' all over him. He asked if I had picked one yet. I said "Duh! Yes." I told the attendant I had decided to adopt that one. She asked me if I had any men in my house because she couldn't let that cat be adopted into a home with a man. I answered, "That one." while pointing to my husband with this "man hating" cat climbing on his shoulders, nuzzling his cheek and purring at him. His original name was "Butthead" and it was obvious he had been abused. We changed all that, though it did take a while before he would let ubrush and pet his fluffy tail.

I can tell :D I’ve always had black or gray cats.

I'm also fond of Black Cats. I had one named Raven who died when I was eight. Now, I have my Salem here :
