HI, I am 58 next month and I have recently realised that I have what I think are a lot of autistic traits. I have a referral to get a formal diagnosis and I am currently waiting for an appointment. I have joined this group to connect with other people who are like me.

Hello and welcome! Hope you have a good experience here. Let us know if you need any help settling in and exploring the forum. There are lots of friendly and helpful folks around here.

Welcome to the Autism Forums. A great place to explore the possibility that you are on the spectrum of autism.

Where interacting and comparing yourself with us may give you a better perspective of who and what you are. It can be a tough journey strewn with potholes, but it's rewarding- especially at a late date to discover who and what you really are. A journey I began at 55. Plenty of us older folks here. ;)

Welcome to the forums. I hope your journey of discovery is free of stress and brings you comfort and understanding.

Hello, it’s nice to meet you. I hope you have a fun time here. I love this community it’s fun to be part of. I hope you are able to get an appointment soon.

I am 55. I was diagnosed when I was 38. It took three months of testing. I wonder if you will take the tests I did. I felt much better when I had an official diagnosis. Someone was finally affirming who I was after a lifetime of just being called weird, like it was my fault.

Hi and welcome. Not all Puddy Tadds are bad...

I hope you enjoy it here and find it useful and supportive.

Hi Tweety!

I was diagnosed at age 55. I am now 65.
It was enlightening to discover the reason for a lifetime of what I thought was weird,
different and somewhat crazy.
There is now self-understanding even though it was found late in life.

I found the forum here immediately after my diagnosis.
It really is a great place and helped so much. :)
