I'm CrazyRabidSquid or just Squid! I was diagnosed with ASD around 2016 and I'm 17 years old. I also have ADHD. Some of my special interests include: animating, drawing, biology, ecology, and reading political and philosophical theory. I won't be sharing what kind here since politics aren't allowed unless it's autism related. I would like to work in resource management some day hopefully as a forester. The Rocky Mountain Range holds my heart.

Hello there, and nice to have you! Do you have a favourite philosophical theorist, and if so, who is it? My favourite philosopher is Susan Stebbing. She is the first female philosophy professor in Britain, and wrote a lot about thinking logically and how to use language to get your point across. Thinking to Some Purpose is a good book of hers. The situation with politics discussions is sort of nebulous. I think it's alright if it's more about political theory as a special interest (not just the latest news story) and you don't make things heated. You should keep it confined to the politics discussion forum (which you have to opt in). Here is the link and a statement of purpose.

I'm partial to Hegel because of his work on dialetics. I would love to check Stebbing out because she sounds cool! Also thanks for the extra info on the rule. It cleared stuff up. :3
 
Hi and welcome, cool interests! I ran a philosophy society at my school, eons ago, and did my first degree in philosophy. It's great to read some of the newer stuff too, I read a lot of very ancient znd old stuff back then. Interesting though.

It's good that you are here, hope you will post your views and ideas. I think it's about being calm and thoughtful, around political discussions, as has been said. There's always a range of views, people have a right to their opinion, and hopefully mostly can see they are not always going to be agreed with.
 
Welcome @CrazyRabidSquid . Nice interests. What aspects of the Biological sciences do you like? I enjoy evolutionary theory and the ecologies of deep time. Right now I am helping with stream insect surveys as a measure of water/habitat quality. I look forward to you contributing here.
