Hello

I wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with ASD about 6 months ago by a new doctor in a different state. I am 36 years old. I was misdiagnosed 9 years ago with 4 different mental disorders and I was over treated to the point that I couldn't function. My family has always suspected that I had a form of Autism but I was never diagnosed as a child. I have been off all medications and psychiatric treatments for two years and I am functioning well now and it is a relief to finally know why I am so different and knowing that I don't need to try and fix it.

Welcome, @Lunafay! It sounds like you're already approaching your new understanding with a good attitude.

I hope you find this forum as welcoming and helpful as I have.

@Lunafay Thank goodness you got off of those awful psych meds and you got your real personality back. I am in the process of getting off of meds myself. You will love it here. The people are fantastic.

Hi Lunafay :)
