I'm very happy that I found this place. I've never really been around other autistic people my age.

I wasn't diagnosed until adulthood. But if I were a kid today, I definitely would have gotten an IEP.

I also have a stutter which is where I always thought my awkwardness came from until the end of high school when I found myself not knowing how to interact with others. (I had a very small group of friends that I am comfortable with and rarely spoke to anyone outside of them... although I did info dump my special interests on a few poor unsuspecting people lol) As someone once described it, it was like being in a play and being the only person who doesn't have the script.

I too have a stutter, though I mainly do so when I'm excited or nervous and sometimes scared; I also have had few friends IRL, mainly due to being a social hermit and keeping to myself, along with having few hobbies/interests to relate to people with; one big thing being sports or theater/musicals that everyone seems to have to like, along w/ kids movies (Disney etc)
