Hello. I’m Jay, and I’ve been diagnosed multiple times on the Spectrum since 1989.

I’m coming up on 39 in a few months. Was originally diagnosed at age 3 in 1989, again in 1994, 2002, and last in 2010. I was 23, coming up on 24 on the last one. My Better Half also has Autism which she was diagnosed with around the same time I was. I’m a jack of all trades of sorts and in the workforce full time. Been doing various types of Security since October 2004 at age 18. I don’t see myself as an Autism Advocate but am willing to answer questions and give advice if needed.

Finally someone else here who was diagnosed in childhood. I don't feel so alone any more lol.

Welcome to the forum.

Age 3 in 1989? Wow, you really got in on the ground floor. I had a daughter at about that time and autism or, at the time, Aspergers was something we were just starting to hear about in the US.

Welcome.

Hi, Jay. My nephew was diagnosed at age 2 in about 1992, as I recall. Do you think that your early diagnosis helped you in developing the good life that you now have?

My Mom, Specific Teachers, Neighbors, Friends, and yes, the Military when both parents were in. My Stepdad was instrumental.
