Had to ask for volume of sensory-friendly movie to be lowered

I went to a "sensory friendly" movie today for those with autism. But when I got there it was too loud. I had to ask them to make it lower. They did and were nice about it but I'm kind of annoyed I had to ask. Do people not understand what sensory friendly is? There was this little girl there who cried during a loud part of the movie previews, it was probably too loud for her too. So me asking them to make it lower probably helped everyone. I just wish people were more aware.
 
Loud volumes are one of my biggest sensory issues. When I go to a movie, I always bring my ear plugs because that automatically reduces the volume for me. But at a supposedly autism friendly movie, it surprises me that you had to ask them to lower the volume. Don't they get it? :rolleyes:
