Though depending on the circumstances it's possible to have your tax bill mitigated to some extent.

Countries take their cut one way or another. Some do it with higher income tax rates, others with sales tax and the VAT, others with gift and death taxes. I always thought death taxes particularly insulting, but then the payer can't complain, can they?

You know that saying. "Put your money where your mouth is." Clearly he means it, being able to give away such sums along with a rather large surcharge just to make it legally happen.

It's a nice story whether people love the man or not. Magnanimity is a great thing. Though clearly we all seem to agree the taxation aspect of it all is well....not so nice at all.
