Food nightmares... and Food fixes

I wish it were that simple. Part of my stomach has pushed through the diaphragm, so it looks as though I have two stomachs. If I eat too fast I have tremendous pain and it causes some serious acid refulx. Mine is unusually large. It is actually pushing slightly into my bronchial tubes, so I have a chronic cough; the acid reflux adds to that. There are some things I can do to help offset the effects, but nothing short of surgery will make it go away.

Oh that sounds awful Sportster. Has anyone advised you to try elevating the head of your bed? My mother had a hiatal hernia and did this and found it very helpful. Put some wood blocks under the legs at the head of your bed so you are on a slight incline(1-2") Gravity then helps to keep the acid in your stomach and out of your esophagus. It's a simple hack and it might help some. Using pillows won't work- all that does is bend your body.

Yes Lucy... but now I am in this mode of trying to find the highest foods with Polyphenols and the foods with the lowest Lectins... Wow at the contradictions that can be found so easy... Humm. Maybe they are out to confuse us in the first place.

I was reading one article that literally contradicted itself... It was saying how good some foods are and then had them listed in the bad columns... I think it was just a typo, but thats pretty big typo...

And Yes on food regimen... NO WHEAT, which I cant have anyway, so no problem there anyway... : )

Humm... It wont post the quotes and the website keeps hopping pages on me. I think I'm gonna shut it down for now anyway and restart my computer and go to sleep... Got a long day tomorrow, but I'm guessing it will be good. For now good night everyone. : )

I have severe food troubles. I am seeing my gastro on Wed to see if she will place an NG tube. If not, I am considering placing my own. It is too much of a torment. Trouble is that what goes into the tube is food based.

It is genetic, not just the gut. Chrom 6
i saw a meal replacement drink that wasn't milk based in a supermarket in the UK it's the first time I've seen it.
can't remember the name sorry

One thing make sure you have a reliable blender, I have one but it sounds like an aeroplane taking off I can't bear to turn it on and the cats are terrified of it .
I pureed my mothers meals and she appreciated it .
am I right in thinking you have to have a low-protein diet? it didn't specify on the website what you would have to have .
