As a parent I know understand stress to pay bills, want best for your child.
In my unprofessional opinion:
Highlight areas need attention, other speech maybe by age of 8 not going out in public so may intervene but in a gentle way. I like Mary Barbara's way of making going out fun, but sadness is doesn't always work. So we went to stay on my friends farm we were only there over holidays so about 6 weeks....but I feel relaxed farm and feeding chickens not just socialising was easing the transition....
Most part parents are being milked by all kind of specialists and ABA schools are not cheap either. I believe ABA suppresses child's emotions and while results may be desirable isn't good for your child to be dragged around and corrected all day, it's damaging.
The next time I see thread on aba research I may tell them off. Floor time therapy or RMI is more respect tful and in long run better. It's a step in right direction.
