A definite concern given the recent history of multiple accidents in conjunction with Waymo driverless taxis in the city of San Francisco, California.

So far Waymo seems to have evaded serious liability in such situations, though the technology itself continues to be marred in controversy, particularly when considering incidents involving pedestrians.
