Do They See Something?

It's odd to me that older people get called sweetie and such by strangers, just because I see them as superior and feel like calling them that would diminish the sense. I can't imagine turning 80 something, and liking being called that by some 20 yr old. By that time I'd be too much of a wise badass.

Currently, I'm not a wise badass. So I find it appropriate to just take it.
When I looked more feminine I was called stuff like that a lot. Inevitable. But now I dress how I want and look kinda confusing. But I am still handled gently, like a hamburger.
 
Many Aspies tend to look younger than they actually are. My Mother was (gleefully) carded for a seniors discount at the age of seventy four, the waitress didn't believe she was sixty-five.

It used to really annoy me when people talked to me as if I were younger than them, when I was often close to them in age.

Really? That makes complete sense, as people always think I'm 10 years younger than I actually am
