I had a stroke 18 months ago had to learn to walk again in the last month went dancing twice with my wife, noticed this is really accelerating my recovery. it takes a few days to see the effects. after first dance was able to walk three kilometers a few days later. Second time again see faster recovery.

I've always thought dancing is an excellent form of exercise. It engages both the mind and body and is just plain fun. It doesn't feel like you're working your body out when you're doing it. Glad you're seeing good recovery !

That is wonderful! I am a terrible dancer, but I think I need to get back into this as a form of exercise, good for the brain, too.

I am so happy for you! I'm sure your wife appreciates how far you've come after your stroke, being able to dance with her? What a miracle!

Just saw that near to me Cedar, MI, will have their Polkafest August 26. Love it, and dancing the Polka is one way to work off the calories from the delicious Pierogies.

Whenever I hear the word polka, I think of Groundhog Day.

Your mention of Polka brought back some warm memories. I had meet a new friend at college he introduced me to his family, they are part of the polish diaspora. His older sister decided to take use out for an evening, she brought us the polish club in the city, neither of us had girlfriends lots of dancing looked like lots of fun. I eventually introduced him to a classmate in my high school whom he later married, a story for another time. Two aspies, neither one of us being aware. life is weird.
