So, would a Harley 833 be an earlier model, and the number increases over time to where there is now an 883 version?

I'm confused about what the difference is between an 883 and a 833.

I copied-pasted the image of the bike I posted from the following site.

There's also a bike labelled as a "2013 HARLEY-DAVIDSON SPORTSTER IRON 833" and the specs describe the engine displacement as "883.32 ccm", so is that where the 883 comes from, its a reference to the engine?

Also, what is displacement? :)

Ok, I see. So there's no such thing as an '833', it's just typos, and the Sportster comes in 883cc and 1200cc and cc stands for cubic centimetres.

So, in medical dramas, when the Doctor asks for 3cc, that's what the 'cc' stands for and also what the 'cc' in the band name 10cc stands for! Cool.

What difference, if any does the cc make to the experience of riding the bike?

It's really interesting to see the the progression of significant changes made by model year.

Is the peanut tank an easily accessible place for storing peanuts for snacking on long journeys? (jk)
 
More displacement in an engine's volume generally translates to more power. Anything less than 500cc on the street is considered lame in the motorcycle world as they are not reliable at highway speeds.

My dragster has a displacement of 7 liters or 7,000 cc which is considerably more than the 4.6 liters it was originally equipped with. My car was offered with the 7 liter engine as well as a high performance option.

The factory rating of gross horsepower for 1966 was posted at 425 horsepower. With my performance modifications it should run between an estimated 8-900 horses that will put me in the sub eleven second elapsed time quarter mile (10.90 to be exact) @ about 136 MPH (217 kph) I built the car to run in NHRA Super Street class that is an entry level professional heads up .500 second pro tree 10.90 wheel standing class.
