I remembered how annoyed I was with devout followers of Christianity a decade ago when they kept focusing this much on being homophobic. With gay marriage being the law of the land in America, this man comes off as a relic of the past. I hope he remains a relic and doesn't pick up steam again. He's right that it's his right to boycott the movie as it is my right to call him out on being a bigot.

On the other hand, I feel the director shouldn't have made a big deal about having a gay character. I feel in order to normalize homosexuality, you have to stop drawing special attention to it, including mentioning your movie has a gay character. Also is this a case of changing a straight character into being gay? I'm not a fan of changing pre-existing characters like that compared to making up new characters. I fee lit comes off as lazy in the same way that making white characters into black characters or males into females. I feel it piggybacks off of what was already popular and giving a hand me down for any particular minority.
