He was timid; she rambles on while among brambles.

In my native language, this would be impossible, as the whole sentence changes from one word.
 
He was timid but rambled on while eating cats.

I wanted to say "a pancake", but because of the one word rule, I can't. I know a bit more about linguistics than you, it should be one thing in a sentence, a "describ". Which I define as a collection of one or more words causing change in a sentence, think "pancakes", and then "a pancake", one thing changed. "pancake" and "pancakes" are the same.
