I got very fascinated that there are members interested starting a business. Some of you know this is what I'm focusing on right now. The type of business I'm trying to build is software related.

With some of the great resources we already share with each other, this is something I'm interested in still doing. I'm willing to share as much resources as possible while I learn many things talking the Self Employment Program with my provincial government. I was thinking maybe we should use the blog section to contribute resources each of us have to share. I feel with the great support we can give each other can lead all of us to have greater success with our businesses. Anyways, share your thoughts and ideas you have?

I'm an accountant by day, and while I still have a LOT to learn, I can offer some tips and good open source programs that I do use for personal and clients' bookkeeping. (Because open source is generally free and I find it much easier to use than the closed source stuff, like Quickbooks.) I've been working on a few Excel tutorials for tracking orders and stuff too.

Yes open source software can be great for people on a limited budget.

If there could be a far bartering system instead of depending on money, I think that be better. Having said that, I would still support open source.
