Burden-less experience at the museum tomorrow

I'm planning on going to the American Museum of Natural History tomorrow. I have a NYC ID which means that I get a year of free membership. This includes free tickets to the Le Frak space theater (a $26 value). I went to the American Museum of Natural History last Tuesday but I didn't have enough time to go to the Le Frak theater because I had to go to a drama class. The problem last Tuesday at the museum was that the Coat Check was $2 plus a very long line. I had no choice but to have the burden of taking my coat with me because I don't like long lines. Tomorrow, I'm planning on going to the American Museum of Natural History without a coat so I can have a burden-less experience there. The problem is that tomorrow will be a rainy day. I need a way to get a disposable umbrella that would shield me from the rain for the 20 minute walk to the closest train station from my house.

There are disposable ponchos with hoods. I keep one in my car, it's orange. Think I got it at a drugstore or maybe Target/Kmart. Never seen a disposable umbrella though. It's a great museum- enjoy yourself!

I have find umbrellas a pure nightmare and it flummoxed me to why they call certain coats: raincoats, when they do not even make them with a hood! Stupid reasoning!!!

I use just an old waterproof jacket, because it has a hood and although, I HATE it and feel very uncomfortable, but at least, I am not a danger to others, because being in a queue ( yes, I cannot stand queues of any length), an umbrella will catch someone's eyes or something and if you are a clumsy person, then that makes it even worse.
