Today I was reading a local arts magazine, there were two articles about musicians I know fairly well (I mean know them personally), both shared struggles of life, beyond just being musicians, real life struggles
One shared about past struggles with addiction, and even a sexual incident from the past which was a secret until recently, and had a huge impact on his relationship with his father......
The other musician shared about struggles of the past decade that ultimately led to a diagnosis of bi-polar
I was thinking of how many of us on the Autism spectrum tend to hide it (I know some of the reasons why), I even know I'm careful myself at times, how all of us hide our flaws and in some cases secrets from the past... It gave me new insight into two people I know fairly well and their courage...
I'm not really in the public eye the way they are,but perhaps we can encourage others around by our life struggles and how we work through them... I am aware of other artists with Autism who do share of themselves, I don't have a big enough public profile to do much, if that matters...
