Autistic boy rescued from Florida Swamp

This brings tears to my eyes. The 5 year old wandered off and as the sun was setting, police found him in a swamp nearby.

The child was able to make sounds like a yell and clung to the rescuer like a limpet.

It's very calming and sensorally lovely to be in, and close to water. My mother gravitated to living in places always close to water. I miss that, a lot, now.

I've always heard autistic children are attracted to water, but from my own experience, I've always been attracted to water as an adult too.
I'm in the process of moving and there is a good- sized pond that is only a few feet behind the house.
There is an alligator in the pond and deep woods behind the house also that is close to the pond. I love to see the deer come out at dusk to graze by the back windows.

The past ten years I've lived in a house with no water in sight. Some woods yes.
I've missed the water and glad to know I can look at it right outside the house again.
It seems a natural thing.
