Autism Social/Support Group opportunity

Well, all, I appreciate the insight, experiences, and especially the enthusiasm
and encouragement(Pa-a-a-a-ts!).
I figured I'd give it a day or so to all sink in.
I thought I'd call quickly, like today, but
it's become apparent that I need to outline
what I'm thinking, and be prepared for the
unexpected.
So, that's what I've done, started an outline in a notebook.
You've all been a big help, and I think I have a grasp of what this will entail---
Really, you've all been fantastic.
I'm gonna give this my best shot.
When we begin the Exchange Aspie Program, I'll send out invitations :):D:p.

I'll be listening, as I draft my ideas, and if anyone has anything to add, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks, again, for all of your help.

May you all be well.

Sounds great. Recommend you blanket all mental health and primary care providers and all agencies which deal with autistics with your flyers. Maybe even Adult Services for the County as they may know of shut ins. The hardest part may be getting enough people to start a group. Having done group work before, if you could get 5-6 people to start it might fly. Wish you all the best in doing this. Keep us posted on how it goes. :)
I wanted to thank you, for this.
I know about HIPPA, but, notifying the right counselors, therapists, specialists, and what they then do with the information...
I appreciate the benefit of your experience, and I appreciate your warm, well-wishes.
Thank you, LucyPurrs, and I'll certainly keep you posted.

Well I think it's great you are going to try and do this. I think providers like mental health and primary care providers would give your flyer to any patients they have they know are on the spectrum. I don't see any HIPPA issue there so no worries. Be sure to put in the flyer that this is a group for ASDs by an ASD and not a mental health or therapy group (that will likely attract more people and also not get you into trouble for practicing without a license). I'd be happy to help in any way I can, just tell me what you want me to do if you want. Wish you all the best in this endeavor!
