Autism and haircuts

Hey everyone,

I'm a university student in my final year studying product design. For my major project I am designing something to aid my little ASD brother with the haircutting experience. I am reaching out to other parents to please review my product and give feedback so that I can make the product more accessible for other families.

I CAN'T have haircuts anymore due to the trauma of having to be forced to get them as a child. I can only have short hair if I dye it an outrageous color.

I think the kid will still scream and throw a fit because they are overwhelmed by the whole experience. It's the feeling of the haircut. The sensation of the hair being snipped physically hurts them. And then the sensation of their head being lighter after the haircut, and the different image of themselves they see in the mirror is traumatic for a few days until they get used to it.
