As daughter as father

Hi! My name is Afonso Henrique, I´m originally from Rio de Janeiro and nowadays live in João Pessoa, Paraíba Brazil and I´m 37 years old. I´ve always been extremely shy, very distracted but observant, intelligent but naive and perfectionist. It was amazing how may seven years old daughter has the same psychological traits as me! September last year, she was diagnosed as having a very slight Asperger Syndrome. My wife and I (me specially) started to read a lot about this condition and concluded that I am as aspie too. And I think that when I her age my autistic traits were even more intense than hers.

Thanks! How many diagnoses... I have others too: social phobia and bipolar disorder, diagnosed when I was 19. Since then, up to my 26 I took psychotherapy with a great professional. Although he didn´t suspect I was Asperger, the therapy help me a lot, including to not be angry of myself because of some autistic traits. Talking to may the psychiatrist that nowadays helps me to prevent bipolar crisis, he said: "I don´t know much about this because I am not a child psychiatrist". Then a I saw why the other one couldn´t do this diagnosis. But my daughter´s psychologist, who is specialized in the spectrum, can easily recognize autistic traits in me.
