Anybody else carving pumpkins? I never used to but enjoy making them in the image of my pets lol. The gecko is the one i carved this year, the snake was from a previous year. I want to plan a new design for next year, might base it on my black cat this time.

I first read the title as craving pumpkins, and I enjoy them in many forms. So, it looks like time to walk over to a neighbor and get a few small pumpkins. Got to make Kaddo Burani and pumpkin pies.

This year, for the first time, I bought a very warty pumpkin. There are also two gourds on my porch. I think I'll leave them as is, because they look so nice just like that.

I harvested 6 pumpkins from my pumpkin patch, and they are going from partially green to wholly orange on the kitchen window sill. I will be roasting the seeds and doing er something about cooking them, I don't know what as have never grown them before. Any suggestions?

You can just slice them and boil them and then scrape the "meat" right off the skin and mash it.

It's good in breads and pies (obviously), but it's also amazing in chili or spaghetti if you substitute pumpkin for tomato sauce, but you have to season it.

You can make pumpkin cheesecake. If you're unfamiliar with baking a cheesecake, i suppose you could use one of those Jello no bake cheesecakes and swirl pumpkin that's been sweetened to be like pumpkin pie into that.

Honestly, it's great if you even stir fry it like you would zucchini.

Enjoy!

My simple way to cook a fresh pumpkin is cut it into wedges after getting all the seeds off,
put butter on them and top with brown sugar.
Place them in the oven until soft. Eat while warm.
Easy and tasty.

My Dad used to carve pumpkins for me.
I was always too clumsy to do the intricate cutting. :(

My every year favourite: An optic fibre electric one I can sit on my shelf or inside looking
out of a window. It is 23 years old! Never grows old.:p

That sounds amazing. I think I'll buy a pie pumpkin and make that!
