Any Marilyn Manson fans here?

So,

I have been a fan of Marilyn Manson since I was 14 in 2009 when my brother showed me his cover of "Personal Jesus" originally by Depeche Mode. It grew on me, I eventually started listening to other songs too, then burnt "The Golden Age of Grotesque" Album onto CD and listened to that a lot, then bought the other albums.

Now, I have met him once, got his autograph and a photo, I had physical contact with him, and I have all the albums, I have some rare t-shirts, got merch, and posters, and other things, etc including the flask inside the fake bible, and the "Marilyn Manson Rosary". I've been to 5 or 6 concerts, I had tickets to see him and Ozzy in 2019, but then the pandemic happened and it was canceled. Even though he is now on a tour, he hasn't came back to Canada since, and it doesn't seem to be in the plans either unfortuantely for me.

My favorite of the vintage/rare T-shirts, is the "Satanic Army" t-shirt, which is of course a play on the Salvation Army.

What about you?

I can honestly say I do not care for his music at all. It's just not my type of thing. That being said, I've always found the man fascinating and any interviews I've caught with him, particularly in the wake of Columbine, he's been nothing but very intelligent and articulate. I think too many people get hung up on the shock of his stage persona that they dismiss him too quickly out of hand.

That is really really cool though that you've been able to see him that many times. I was fortunate myself to see my all time favorite band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, once in my 30's so I know how great that is.

Yes, he is very intelligent too, that's also half of the appeal to me. It's also interesting how each album sounds different as well.

The latest album released last November "One Assassination Under God Chapter 1" is pretty good and is well received by the fandom and others in general. He has stated that Chapter 2 will be coming soon, so I am looking forward to that.

Started with Smells Like Children album. A few decent songs. His cover of Sweet Dreams was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar.

I had several of his albums, but moved away from his newer stuff.

Mechanical Animals, Antichrist Superstar and Holy Wood were the other albums I owned.

A few of his songs I still enjoy to this day, but not many.

Saw him live at Download festival in UK in 2003 when I was 17. He sounded awful live, his voice was beyond flat. Really bad. I was extremely disappointed. Deftones sounded amazing though.

Where you there the second day for Audioslave? I would have loved to have seen them. Cornell was something else.

I prefer Ministry, KMFDM, PIG, and Godflesh. I do appreciate the fact Manson is influenced by the musicians in those bands, though.

I kinda thought his child rape humor was in very bad taste.
Child rape humor? source please?

I'm not saying he didn't say anything like that, he like I, have a very dark and twisted sense of humor, but it's good that you acknowledge that it's just humor.

I think he's a very strange character. I did listen to some of his music a long time ago. I went to see one of his gigs in 1997. Back when I had some goth friends.
