Any Holistic Healers Here?

I'm just curious what modalities, and also what are the most complex conditions you've treated naturally, with herbs, homeopathy, bodywork, etc.

I am a medicinal herbalist. I have worked as a doula in the past, and have some midwifery training.

I forage for most of my medicines. I find that there are good native substitutes for most conventional herbs. A local variety of a plant, for instance that works the same as the more well known variety found in stores as loose leaf or in supplements.

I make tinctures, teas, syrups, and salves. I buy them rarely, when necessary.

I am also a lay practicioner of homeopathy.

I use accupressure in healing.

I have induced labor successfully quite a few times, herbally. This is dangerous practice, and must be done under the supervision of a doctor or midwife.

I've treated women's health conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, fibrocystic breasts, hashimotos, and general pms, menopausal relief as well.

Bladder infections, interstitial cystitis relief herbally.

Eyes and ears, infections, allergies, styes..

I am pretty good at treating most coughs and lung problems.

Lowering fevers. Wilderness first aid.

I'm pretty good at treating hay fever, mild anaphylaxis, and other allergic reactions homeopathically.

It's one of my great loves, holistic healing. Had i not become disabled, I'd probably be a Direct Entry Midwife, and maybe even I would have pursued my dream of becoming a Naturopathic Doctor.

My favorite Herbal Medicine books in the whole world are

Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss

and

Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin

I use a lot more books than just those. But the aforementioned two are my favorites.

I also use field guides from our local university extension service in identifying plants for food and medicine.

I prefer and would recommend field guides with full color photographs. I do not trust drawings of plants for identification.

I mostly am fascinated by studying and practicing holistic pediatric and women's health.

I'm not a holistic healer but I never take aspirin due to an acute allergy to it and I rarely take Tylenol. I have to be in agony of pain before I'll take anything like that. I guess I have a high tolerance for most pain. I try to eat right, organically grow most of my own vegetables and fruit, eat lean meat and only in limited quantities, and am rarely sick. I haven't had a cold in many years. I shun most social contact where I can be exposed to contagious illnesses and wash my hands whenever I've been around other people. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

l found Shilajit liquid drops by Green People. I hope it helps my partner. Very interesting you are so experienced in these areas.

I know sure there going to be beneficial plants etc, you could use as medicine.
But there is so much false information, that the things that could work get drowned by the false stuff.

The closest i did to this, is mixing alcohol and vinegar, to clean my ears, it worked several time to make me hear ok again.

Also mix 50/50 of distilled water and vinegar can be used to clean flat monitors.

I use herbs as medicine, I learnt about some of them from family and about some of them on my own.

I don't make anything of my own and I just use bought leaves or herbal medicines. I often tolerate herbs and supplements much better than mainstream medicine, I'm allergic or have very strong reactions to many medications. I even got allergic to many antibiotics recently.

When it comes to herbs, I can treat some kinds of infections with them and prefer herbal remedies, as they are more gentle. I also find herbs and supplements helpful for symptoms of depression, anxiety, sleep issues etc. Vitamin supplements and changes in diet have made a world of a difference for me. I also treated some hormonal issues using herbs with success.

I find massages very helpful for migraines. There is a web page called Shaolin Online and the monks offer free courses of self-massage and about gentle exercise.
