Answer a QUESTION with a QUESTION

Why do people make elaborate rules for water conservation, like running the dishwasher only when full and turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth but insist on water flush toilets, green lawns and weekly car washes ?

Aren't the modern versions of all that just a bit more sophisticated and sanitary than a hole in the ground?

Did you know mixing urine and feces causes more, foul smelling bacteria to proliferate than allowing feces to dessicate?

Yupperdoodles! It's so true. I was just telling someone that I visited this guy a long time ago, and he lived in an Earthship (house made from tires, cob, and glass) and he had a composting toilet. It didn't smell at all. It just smelled like alfalfa. It was so weird.

Did you know there was once a rattlesnake in the outhouse as a kid? Can you imagine how angry and shocked he must have been, tunneling through the dirt and popping out down in that hole? lol

Do you mean the shocking part would be because the rattlesnake tunneled
through all that dirt to get into the outhouse and it turned into a
buzzing electric eel?
