Why does it seem the world wants me to conform to them, but they refuse to understand me? I am tired of feeling like the outsider when I have a higher I.Q. than they do but I get treated like the idiot. If enough people here want I will be glad to start a form, or blog on this issue with us.
It seems the state VR programs show little results.
I did not ask for this condition. It chose me. I should not have to conform to anyone because they were not chosen.

In this context, VR = Vocational Rehabilitation.

In the US, these are state level* programs that help persons with disabilities obtain and find work.

*state-level referring to state government, so each state has their own programs and while most of them are similar in general, there would be variations in how programs are operated, types of funding and training and supports available, etc.

Unfortunately, that's the reality. We are in a minority and they are are the majority, and they expect everyone to fit in. Fitting in is masking, and one needs to mask, or fit in to get on in the world. In an ideal world, society would be more inclusive than it is, but human are humans and unfortunately it's not, and so one has to mask if one wants, for example, to succeed in a career or do anything involving people. Personally, I struggle with the masking as I often don't do it well and people see through the mask, but I know I need to do it to get by.

We are outsiders because we can think around issues and synthesize in ways NTs cannot. Plus our focus and inability to grasp social communication and norms as intuitively as NTs frequently disturbs them.

I was profoundly socially immature as a teen and young adult and did not mature until I decided that I wanted the benefits that being social will provide me.

Until I joined this site I did not even know what masking was I have always been myself. I guess masking is a form of lying lying to your self.
