Acid attacks brought by anxiety

I tend to be able to control the severe acid I get, by understanding how the body works, but find that when I have an anxiety attack, acid also comes along.

Anyone else relate to this?

I can definitely relate, for me it's also related to having irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia with bouts of gastro-intestinal reflux disease brought on by stress.

My mom was in a serious accident a few months ago and as I was travelling the four hours to the hospital where she had been admitted I kept feeling like the acid was going to burn through my sternum and skin any minute now.

I have a stomach ulcer and that can make it feel as if something is gnawing through my stomach lining, I am completely crippled when it attacks and it can last anywhere from 1 - 6 hours. The doctor gave me Omeprazole to control it.

Oh you mean acid reflux! Yeah, I get that fairly often, have so over the last 3 or so years. Could be tied to anxiety for all I know.

Sometimes I get that. I drink aloe vera juice which helps a lot! Also I will take a cap of licorice (the herb not candy) and that helps a lot, too. Sometimes vinegar (1 TBS) with manuka honey helps, too. Manuka honey is amazing.

You are not alone! :-)

i can relate sometimes i get acid reflux and then other times i get a cold spot in my body.

My Gallbladder had to be taken out last August (2016), all my attacks felt like severe heart-burn, I had thought the pain would be nearer the location of my gallbladder, but I felt it in my chest the worst! So if you have severe heart-burn and doctors don't know why, ask about your gallbladder.
