Hi I'm an officially diagnosed Asperger's. Have had many adventures in life. Post-op mtf. I recently moved to Springfield Missouri because of the great autism resources here and my birth family lives here. I love life I live in therapy and I take my recovery very seriously. I'm hoping to work with nami someday. I am also almost done with my bachelors.

Thank you isadoorian. I've been looking for a form to meet other aspies. I don't know that I've ever really met another one. While I'm in mental health services all the time, most people there are bipolar, borderline, schizophrenic or the court order them to get help. Once I received my official diagnosis my whole life made sense. I don't think I can have an effective relationship with neurotypicals. I know I can't have an effective relationship with psychopathic neurotype. I have tried that for the last 15 years. So honestly I'm hoping I can find another aspi who share similar interests.

Welcome! I hope you’ll enjoy these forums and you find what you’re looking for :)

Welcome to Autism Forums!
Thank you. I am finding the posts and articles to be quite insightful. I have a pretty good understanding of my mental and developmental issues. I have been in therapy since I was about 3 years old. It is the first time though that I have reached out to others with the same and/or similar disorders. I came here after I was officially diagnosed. My original diagnosis was DSM 3 and that mislead the therapists. Getting involved with a new mental health facility who did a fresh intake started the dominoes that lead to my understanding. I researched other neural types. I learned I have been in a friendship with a psychopathic neurotype for the last 15 years. I do not think I want to date NTs and psychopaths are too dangerous. I get spun to easy. So I am hoping to make friends with other ASD. It comes down to communication I am learning.
