    The brown and white ones are called "conchas" (or shells in English)

    The cookie is called a polvorón which idk what it translates to... It's basically a cookie that leaves a lot of crumbs when you bite into it

    I haven't had conchas in a long time. There is a baked goods shop, where I lived on my own, that made them. I recall my roommate introducing me to them. They are really good.

    Every day is laundry day here unless we have a power outage or something. We wash what was used the day before.

    I have to get to the laundromat in Yreka when it first opens if I have to do laundry. After 90min or so people start arriving, like the Hmong weed planters who always have garbage bags full of laundry. I've seen planters show up with the entire back seat of their car stuffed full of laundry. So yeah, do it and get out.

    I had to learn that "happy" is always going to be a fleeting feeling. It comes and goes, but it can never stay forever.

    If you can find peace within yourself, I suspect that feelings of happy with come upon you now and then. 🌈

    Exactly! Happiness is just another feeling like sadness, anger, etc it comes and goes and it's not permanent

    I don't think anybody is permanently happy but you can be at peace and learn to live with every single feeling you feel calmly

    Eating healthier is a tricky thing to balance. It's about moderation and, to some milder extent, self-control. Not niche diets that go in and out of style. Something consistent you establish yourself is best. And practice.

    I had a conversation about some crabs I used to see outside of my parent's home back when I was a kid, turns out they were Louisiana Crawfish

    I don't see them anymore thanks to urbanization, but... How did they end up here in the state of Chihuahua? I will never know

    Abandoned pets is my guess. The USA has big problems with animals that are meant to live in the wild being caged as illegal pets. The owners decide they can't keep them and dump them. Then the animals wreak havoc on the environment.

    We had never seen them but I'm supposing someone either had them as pets or bought them and freed them to do a good deed (we still have vendors who sell those kinds of birds on the streets) and well... Now there's a lot of them flying around

    Not gonna lie, they're pretty but I assume they're a problem for pecan farmers
