    My day at work was much better. I interacted with those people in my other post amicably. They initiated in a friendly manner first, and we had a great back and forth. It seems I misinterpreted what happened yesterday. I also worked with a few other nice people. I was good in conversation. My biggest weakness I need to fix is initiation. I cannot read and understand the context surrounding this.

    I think I have a crush on a girl there. Whenever I see her, I naturally just can't help but smile, laugh and look downwards bashfully. The nice thing is, she does the same. I acted quite cold to her in the final hour yesterday after that interaction in my last post. I want to fix that. She was working elsewhere today.

    I also wish that we had a place for outcasts and rejects that is considered 'noble' or 'virtuous' like the night's watch.

    I've been at work for 2 months now. All the people I befriended/allied with have gone. They are keeping me on because I'm a hard worker.
    Also, I think I was getting made fun of by people of my own ethnicity. Even worse, it was in the native language. You are the worst if you talk in a foreign language around someone who does not understand it whilst laughing at that person.

    Conversation feels so superfluous nowadays. It's been years since I've had a fun, enjoyable conversation with someone. Acting like an idiot and not thinking what I say through, using whatever language I feel like, not being as 'efficient' as possible with my words. I feel like having fun is inefficient, if that makes sense.

    @Crossbreed I don't know anything about human pheromones. I will say that another girl I liked had a certain smell that made me want to be around her. Does that relate?

    Yes, but you can't always "smell" them. Sometimes you will have a strong attraction and not know why.
    Some women will have the same kind of attraction to you.
    It is absent when all you have is a photograph or an avatar.

    Mutual respect is essential to a healthy, strong and good relationship. A lot of us here are friendless and alone. Would you say a lack of respect for others often on your side is one reason for this?

    @thejuice That's exactly what I'm talking about. You are meant to feel tired after eating garbage because of how bad junk food is for you. It takes longer to digest. It negatively affects the body's chemistry. Now, imagine someone has been eating such trash for long periods.. their entire life? How can that person be healthy? They will be awful mentally as the body affects the mind, etc.

    @thejuice There is no getting used to it. A lion won't be happy being fed anything but meat, nor will he be happy when is not out in the wild fulfilling his natural desires in a natural environment. Humans are just animals.

    I may be coming across as 'cold' to people unintentionally. I feel it is kind of inefficient to use energy on others when I could be thinking of something else or relaxing my mind. Does anyone have any thoughts or tips to share here? If I was talking to a beautiful person, I'd be very energetic around them. I feel as though this is natural behaviour.

    Example: A person showing you family photos is expressing joy/pride. They are doing this because they are extending a social invitation to you share in their joy.

    This is very kind of them.

    What about formal conversations? Is it worth it to take emotion into account over reason? Like trying to inject humour into a response even if you don't detect joy in their speech? Like when speaking to a manager, it can be hard/impossible to detect a feeling when things don't feel personal.
    Hopefully you know what I mean.

    Talking to a manager is about conveying information.

    Emotional content is pleasant/polite, with an undercurrent of subservience.

    Listen, respond politely. Inserting humor (as opposed to polite responses) is going off topic and likely to be viewed as "silly" or "distracting" by somebody expecting to convey clear data.

    It's weird how you cannot not like beautiful people. They really are God/nature's gift to us average people. I feel so much gratitude towards them, even towards the whole world/universe as circumstances led to the moment of me seeing them and feeling such an emotion.

    @thejuice Believe it or not, we are all meant to look like this. We are meant to be in harmony with nature. But even looking at the average person doesn't create natural, immediate and effortless joy unlike when you look at one of these models. It is pathetic what we have become. I think in the future we'd all be able to look that beautiful via genetic reconfiguration, or something like that.

    As society advances, the people get weaker. Perhaps applies to genes. "Hard times create strong men. Strong men create strong societies, strong societies create weak men, weak men create hard times" Thus every great civilisation eventually rots out from the inside and collapses, to be overthrown by the hungry, ambitious, up and comers. The east sees us as decadent and complacent.

    @thejuice An individual in our modern day has the power to eat healthily for themselves and their future generations. I spend so much more less money on the raw meat I buy and eat simply because it is more satiating so I don't feel I have to eat too much. There's evidence that anything else gives less nutrients. I believe there's a nefarious power at work with all the propaganda about food.

    I had my first clash with a co-worker today. I thought about it for a while and realised it is beneath me and a waste of my time caring for the opinion of an undisciplined, late 40s, minimum wage worker. Who even has the energy to get frustrated during some minimum wage random job?

    I'm not pretentious. By beneath me, I just mean someone who I don't and can't respect. If you get frustrated over terribly minor things and then can't control how you are around others, you are lost and insecure. Healthy people do not act this way.

    Christmas feels odd this year. Everyone seems miserable on Christmas eve. Must be because I've transitioned more deeply into the adult world?

    I've been doing new things, so meeting new people as well. I realised that my social life and social skills haven't changed much at all. I had expectations that I don't think were extreme, yet I've not met them. I think I can conclude that the problem is with me fully. Perhaps I'm not open enough, giving others enough of an opportunity to connect, or not reciprocating enough or clearly.

    It's pretty jarring once I realised that the problem is truly fully with me. At the same time, it's powerful. I always thought it was my social status and looks that held me back, but I'm not able to solidly connect with people in the same group as me, yet others are.

    Same here. I keep trying but I am spoken over. Don't even mention the disaster it is whenever I try to talk solo with a female that's not a boomer that's single. A trainwreck at best. Talk about 2 word convert and lots of dead silence disputes my best efforts to ask relevant questions.

    The puritan movement sounds very appealing to me. And those hour-long sermons.. exactly what I was looking for. Why would someone choose to sing awkwardly with strangers rather than learn is beyond me.

    Mass was kind of underwhelming. I was expecting harsh lessons, deep theology and pondering, but I felt it was too ritualistic and drone-like in our behaviour. I honestly feel a back and forth conversation/dialogue would be a better format. It suits newcomers and experienced people more. How is a newcomer meant to understand what to do without guidance when it comes to rituals?

    You could trace it back centuries to Martin Luther, and look how much chaos, war and death that caused.

    Realistically you don't need a church to pray or be religious. In this day and age with the Internet I'm sure you can find forums and social groups.
