Class on asperger. Help for presentation

Thanks to all for the help I got. The presentation went well and they all said it was useful stuff to apply on the workfloor. So perhaps we all helped a bit to gain a more autism friendly world here

Class on asperger. Help for presentation

Thanks to all of you for the useful information. Tomorrow I'm going to put in the final touches to my presentation and am really hoping to be able to translate the aspie brain to the NT brain. If people have any tip, how small they might be, it will be appreciated. Small stories might be useful...

Class on asperger. Help for presentation

Hey everybody A week from now I have to hold a presentation at my internship about autism. Most of them don't know much about it and it might help the care for autistic patients a lot. Its at a psychiatric clinic for people in need of short-term mental first-aid (think people with severe...

Trying to date friends autistic sister. Maybe.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Tom on that. Considering you're 30 and she is 18, that would be considered kinda iffy even if she was extremely mature for her age. I don't think it's illegal, but I do think you'll have to be careful because people will pick up on it in the wrong way. All...

    Ghost?...... Do you believe?

Every side of any argument has its set of people who just deny to listen to any of the arguments the other side makes. For me personally I don't believe because I have never had anything happen that I can't explain. Perhaps if I ever come across something ghostlike I might start believing it...

    Ghost?...... Do you believe?

"If you have faith in something, you simply don't require proof" I personally read that bit as: "if you have faith in something you simply don't allow proof or listen to reason". Some people are so obsessed about believing in something, they don't want to see any proof against it or fail to see...

    What language can you speak?

African sounds so incredibly funny if you're from the Netherlands, no offense. It kinda sounds like somebody knows most of the Dutch words but forgot that grammar was a thing and then just fills in the gaps. Afrikaans klinkt echt ontzettend grappig als je uit Nederland komt, niet vervelend...

How tall are you? (Men Only)

1m93cm. I think that roughly translates to 6'3" if I'm right? Only weigh 60 kilos (132 pounds?) so I tend to get overlooked even though my size xD

For those of you who found a loving partner

Im currently in a really happy relationship, going for almost 2 years now and doesn't seem like it will end any time soon and for advice... To be honest I can't say much more than you need luck. I met her at a party of a friend, to which I almost didn't go because I didn't feel like it...

    Favorite Car?

I am a huge sucker for classic cars, just a shame I don't have the money, mechanical skills or tools to keep them running. I wouldn't want a car with all that electric nonsense, it just distracts from driving and it's never perfect. If you can't park your car yourself or keep it at a steady...

    do you like waterparks

Oh god no. I hate water and moisture and all stuff like that... I don't like it when I get wet in any way shape or form xD

Teenage Aspie sent home from school as her tie was 'too short'...

"Tying ties becomes natural very quickly" So what's the point in learning to do it daily in school. And only a small percentage of jobs requires you to wear suit and ties. I'm aspiring to be a nurse, why would I need to be able to wear a suit and tie in a hospital anyway? Acting nice and civil...

Teenage Aspie sent home from school as her tie was 'too short'...

You are absolutely right there, so please forget that argument, I just got a bit excited there xD Because wearing a suit and a tie are such complex skills to grasp on your own. School should also be a place where you learn to be yourself within society, not just how to be a good employee later on

Teenage Aspie sent home from school as her tie was 'too short'...

I get the thought behind it, that is not the issue. But how do children not have the right to wear what they want? For me it's the entire argument of "give all pupils the same clothes so they won't get bullied over it" the same as painting all black people white so they don't get discriminated...

Teenage Aspie sent home from school as her tie was 'too short'...

I can see the benefits in there, but aside from that, all it does is teach kids to walk in line and not be different. Instead of other kids bullying you and telling you to conform to the norm, it is the school that does so. Uniforms kill individualism, it teaches pupils to be like everybody else...
