    Autistic people aren't robotic. Many of us are very emotional and expressive. We may have trouble expressing our thoughts and feelings, but it doesn't mean we don't have complex mental and emotional worlds. Making OC's isn't robotic. In fact, I think it's a sign of creativity.

    How old were you when you first spoke?

    About a year old. I wasn't late with talking, but with walking. I did need speech therapy in elementary school because I mispronounced some sounds, though.

    When I was younger, I didn't understand sarcasm. But now I can pick up on sarcasm most of the time, and can use it, though I do occasionally miss it.

    I think the spectrum is too complicated to be sorted into neat categories. I understand what high-functioning is meant to convey: someone who has average to above-average intelligence and verbal skills. But even that is not straightforward. What about someone who is only sometimes verbal? Or...
