  • Just realized that a close friend could be a Covert Narcissist.

My husband and friends have told me to stay away instead of confronting and trying to set the record straight with the ones who are against me because of this person but the autist in me can't continue to let others believe these lies about me. My big mouth was what got me into this mess and they think I'll just make it worse.

I don't know anyone jealous of a narcissist. That would be miserable to live with. Sometimes it's helpful to use strategy such as grey-rocking.

Yep I have been grey-rocking them since they cut all proverbial ties with me, so interaction is minimal with this person. The problem is that she continues to poison others and others have told her to do the same with me. Only reason I know is through mutual friends/family. Lies are catching up to this person.
Spent the day at a King Tut exhibit...

The art is beautiful, thanks for sharing some of it! I got to see recently some of the personal effects of a Protestant chaplain who'd photographed the dig. The lady friend wanted to go to a library so we went & of course you can't go to a library without having a good rummage through any exhibits.
Tut got a royal burial that's for sure--more lavish in death than many in life.

I traveled to Washington D.C. to see the collection when it went on tour back in 1976.
We got in line to see the exhibit at midnite and didn't gain entrance until noon the next day, but it did leave quite an impression on me, so it was worth the wait.
We gave morning people too much power. Them not being functional after 8:30pm is okay yet me not being functional before 8:30am is not somehow. 'Splain..

I loved working the graveyard shift. I was not functional after 8:30am and then it was perfectly OK.

Have a blessed Diwali. For the past few days, I've watched some of my favorite scenes from Imagine Ramayan (such a good series- all the seasons are on youtube- subtitled in English).

Also haven't had rain in weeks...so far it's the driest start to fall ever.

That explains it, it's 40 degrees here and yesterday morning there was frost on the ground. Hence the shouting in the garden.

We should finally get a front on Monday so I'm looking forward to that.. until then it's just an agonizing wait.
Recently watched a good documentary called A Trip to Infinity. Was slightly unsettling but cathartic at the same time. Interesting and complex concept, infinity is.

It brought me peace in the sense that there were mathematicians and physicists who felt the same way as me about the grand scheme, concept of death, and the unknown. For some, it's scary to think about, but these scientists made me feel like I wasn't alone in my thoughts.
Just saw a weather reporter get nailed by a flying tree branch in 110 mph winds ...

Oh dear, I have a feeling this will be one of the costliest ones ever. That wind does look crazy. Hope your roof gets fixed quickly!

ian is on its way (in central FL) and I’m scared. Dorian in 2019 was nothing (just rain and wind for us, but severe damage for the Bahamas), and Irma cut power to my area for three days despite hitting as a Cat 1.
Anyone else watching the Dimorphos impact... ?

Weirdest hearing test ever had at my physical. I heard most tones out of my left ear, was waiting for right ear tones but only heard a couple on that side. The result ended up being that my right ear scored fine and had gotten better from last year. But my left hearing had disintegrated a tad even though I only heard tones out of that one ... very confused. So was the doctor.
Homemade Idli Sambar..mmm. pretty sure I'm back to pre-Covid weight after this weekend.

Mmmmm, one of my Somali friends makes a sauce that tastes very similar. Only she cuts up rotis or tortillas into triangles and fries them. That's what we dip with. But I love the clean, lovely steamed flavor if idli. Are you grinding and fermenting the grains yourself? If so, I am very impressed.

Somali cuisine definitely has some Indian/Arab influence :) Actually my mom makes it when I come to visit her and ya she makes it all from scratch. She's just too good of a cook. I've been suspecting that she's an Aspie too. One of her special interest/obsession is cooking, so you could say I'm spoiled with good food :p.

Idli Sambar is one of my favorite comfort foods. The pillowy softness of Idli is so hard to beat. And the way my mom makes it, it just melts in your mouth...
Husband came back from Detroit business trip with a Michigan shaped cutting board and cookie cutter (a gift from the company). As a Texan I feel conflicted (LOL). Jokes are welcome.

I can relate to this, because I got a German Shepherd cutting board as a prize in a dog show, and I don’t have German Shepherds so it looks kind of weird in my house lol

Just feels weird lol. I've never even been. So am I supposed to make Michigan shaped cookies and serve them on the Michigan board for ...what reason haha? Too funny...
The odd coincidences (& signs?) have started up again after a pretty long lull. Life trying to talk to me again...*shrug*

Since it's likely your brain piecing these coincidences together and interpreting them as meaningful, you might be trying to tell yourself something important.
