Can a person with autism be transformed?

Well, Autism is defined as a neurological disorder according to modern medicine. I feel that we consist of body (physical), mind (mental), and soul (spirit). If you physically have a neurological disorder, the logic would be that the rest of your "being" would be affected. This also infers that...

Who are you least likely to get along with?

I have a hard time getting along with extraverts and people that make rules, always plan, and are busy bodies. I value them and how they're made, but if something is going to irritate me, it's the extraverts that feel hyper and invasive to me.

    Abusive Relationship?

So very sorry to hear about sexual abuse from the age of 8. I, too, was sexually abused as a young child and to this very day, I have a hard time trusting anyone. My hope for you is to find a person that accepts you as you are, supports in good and bad times, and encourages you to seek healing...

    Light Sensitivity

My local Walmart has a combination of natural and fluorescent light; it hurts my eyes even with my sunglasses on.

What do you like about your autism?

I'm rather good at words and writing. Most people cringe when they have to write a 12 page essay; I look forward to it and finish pretty quickly.

Me, too! Most, if not all, clothing feels scratchy, bunchy, or choking to me. 1 more vote for a nuditst colony!

    Light Sensitivity

I totally get it. My family and I have made compromises over the years. A little bit of both goes a long way in persuing hapiness.

    Light Sensitivity

My eyes hurt in most environments because of any kind of light. I'm having to wear my sunglasses most of the time. The light causes pain in my eyeballs and eye sockets. Sometimes, even when I wear sunglasses my eyes still hurt with light. Anybody else experience this?

Sexual Relationship with an Aspergers Partner

My libido has remained high throughout my life. The only time that I saw a difference was when I was taking Xanax to fall asleep (prescribed). My NT wife has very little libido due to having endometriosis and having a hysterectomy, which is understandable. I recommend giving your boyfriend...

feeling disconnected from family at home

You are NOT alone in this! Over the years, I have felt socially clueless, but wanting better social interactions. My wife and 3 daughters explained to me that I would mostly go off by myself and then feel unloved. Sheesh. Granted, I need a lot of quiet, alone time to re-energize and think about...

Depression: realising that i’m not as attractive or as gifted as I thought I was

Comparing ourselves to each other/people, is the first step in defeating yourself. You are a beautiful masterpiece and beauty is just vanity. Appreciate and love yourself and embrace all of your strengths and weaknesses.

My obsession with being special, powerful, and superior

Often, someone who is insisting on being more special and superior to others, comes from unmet childhood needs. People create "false selfs" to make up for unmet needs and weaknesses they have. Magical and mystical thinking are bi-products of a person not feeling loved, acceptable, and worthy...
