    can i ask, has it gotten better over the years? i do see a slight improvement in the frequency of the outbursts but the severity remains the same... i have learned that getting angry at him in the moment is counterproductive so i try to talk to him as calmly as possible now... but the problem...

    he's not allergic to anything we know of... his nose bleeds on occasion due to the picking... he gouges out mostly harder stuff that's the consistency of play doh (yuk)... we live in nj so it can get pretty humid during the summer... i try to tell him how gross and embarrassing it is and...

    hi... new to this wonderful forum... i am a dad of a terrific 9yr-old 3rd grader (4th grader in the fall)... he was diagnosed when he was 4 with AS but we've never told him... he's in a mainstream school with an aid in the classroom and he receives minimal services from the school... speech...
