Do You Do Something Your Own Way?

I also have problems with getting cramps from writing. I cannot hold a pen or pencil in the standard way that my teachers wanted me to either. They would try and try and try to get me to hold my pen the way they wanted me to do it, but I just couldn't do it that way. (motor skill issues, I'm...

Do You Do Something Your Own Way?

I also couldn't do mathematics the way they wanted me to in school. They would always get mad because I couldn't show my steps to solving the problem, but a lot of it went on in my head, and I couldn't figure out how to translate it to the format they wanted. My mathematical brain just works...

Do You Do Something Your Own Way?

I have never been able to hold a pen correctly. Many teachers tried to teach me to do it correctly, but I could never write that way. I'm assuming it has something to do with my motor skills, but I wasn't diagnosed till I was 29, so I never really figured out the specific reason why. Sometimes...

    Need help with diagnosis

I don't know how things with insurance work in the UK, but I went straight to a neuropsychologist instead of going to my GP. Some insurances require that you get a referral from a doctor first. I'm 29 and just got diagnosed this year, so this is pretty current information.

    Need advice immediately!

I think you're going to be okay. Don't worry about getting the shirts back to him. If you feel like it's necessary, turn your Facebook page to private. You don't owe a response to him, and if he harasses you, call the police. I think you can totally just ignore this guy though. He can buy new...

    Do I Have Autism

Hi, and welcome! What are your symptoms that you would like to discuss? I was just diagnosed this year at age 29, but I grew up with a brother who is on the spectrum, so I have quite a bit of knowledge on the subject.

    Autism and Aging

I am 29, and often get mistaken for being 18-22. I'm really not sure why. When I was younger I was mistaken as older than my age, but I think that was due to my height. I'm 6'2 now, and was about 5'10 by 5th grade. But yeah, everyone ALWAYS thinks I look about 10 years younger than I am. I'm...

INTJ & Aspie or just INTJ ?

I am an INFP, and an aspie... nothing about the myers-briggs personality test has to do with whether or not you're on the spectrum.

The Autism Spectrum is Useless: Here's why...

The POINT of the spectrum is to signify that we are all different. That's why it's called the spectrum. The spectrum of different colors has all sorts of varying degrees of visible colors...that's what it's saying about autistic people.... that we come in all different shades

The Autism Spectrum is Useless: Here's why...

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand how having an autism spectrum is useless. If you are autistic, you're autistic. There are just varying degrees of autistic. There are also people who are neurotypical. They DON'T fall on the spectrum. I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. Are you...

Relationships with men with bad mothers

My past two partners have had crappy mothers. (my ex husband and my current boyfriend), but they both reacted to the situation differently. My ex husband basically took the victim route and expected me to mother him through everything and take care of him, while my current boyfriend is very...
