    Favorite alcoholic beverages?

The bread drink sounds interesting. Maybe even tasty!

    Favorite alcoholic beverages?

Maybe I'm playing armchair psychiatrist, but I think you can tell a lot about people based on what kind of alcohol they enjoy. I like scotch and weird craft beers a lot. How about you all?

    Cinema Habits/Behaviours that Annoy You?

I find it annoying when people show up super late. It just seems lazy. Maybe they had some good reason, but the cynic in me thinks they're just predisposed to being rude.

Rules for eating or arranging food?

It's interesting that the incident "cured" you though. Did you stop feeling the impulse too, or did you just stop doing it?

Rules for eating or arranging food?

If something had a certain kind of texture, I wouldn't eat it as a refrigerated leftover. The drying effect of the fridge skeezed me out. I've gotten better about that, but still try avoid refrigerated foods that have already been prepared once. In other words, I cook for the portion I need at...

    Behavioral Progress

I used to get these impulses too when I was living with my in-laws. Long story short, I am not living with them anymore and now I don't have to deal with the complexities of cohabitation. It can be really trying. My advice is to just say as little possible when you feel this way. Them thinking...

What supposedly great movies do you not like?

What a fantastic topic! I hate nearly every superhero movie I've ever seen. Especially the newer ones. People get so angry when I point out that the plots are derivative and the dialogue is bad. I know it's a taste thing, but I barely see it that way in this case.

    Back!

This seems cheap and attention-thirsty, but I'm back after a long absence. My life has changed a lot since I was last active on here. Relationships, jobs, hobbies, not smoking anymore. All way different. Missed the frank discussions and thought it was time to return. It's nice to "see" you all...

Are there distinct stages people go through after diagnosis?

I don't think everyone follows the same stages, but I know that I thought I'd totally adjusted to my diagnosis years ago. Yet here I am years later, still learning things about myself. Still "progressing" in my ability to blend in with NT peeps. Embrace the phases.

Sensitive Topic Ballarat Autism blogger recieves death threat by American Anti-Autism blogger

I truly had no idea that there even exists such a thing as an "anti-autism" movement. That's deranged.

A list of suitable and unsuitable jobs

If you're a relatively high-functioning aspie, taking one of the "bad" jobs early on in your career can teach you a lot. And if it's a trainwreck, then oh well, at least you tried. I realize this not good advice for those of us who struggle more with social function.

Share Healthy Asperger's Syndrome Coping Skills

Try method acting during the day if you work around a lot of NT people. Blend in by playing a character that gives you confidence. It sounds odd, but you can still be yourself and do this exercise if you think hard about it. I know some people here get offended by being asked to conform to NT...

Complex whole body movements? And would this fit that category?

I've never heard of the phrase, but for some reason I feel like it applies to me. I feel like I make odd physical movements, or at least exaggerated ones, to relieve tension/pour myself into something to distract myself from feeling awkward/out of place.
