i am going back to my summer home this week for a bit but stuff has going on there that is pain lol. (we had someone turn the water on and it turns out our toilet was leaking so that was $450 we had to spend on a new one...pain)
I've got to stop going onto the internet when depressed. It really doesnt help. I cant make progress on anything if I keep doing bloody stupid things that specifically make it much harder to do anything.
Yay! Flu almost gone at long last, though I still can't hear properly 😿 I've had no sleep but I finally started deep cleaning the kitchen, its been on the list since we moved in. Its progress but I have to be careful not to over do things.

I just posted a 409 cleaning song, stay strong.
I hate people who pretend to have social anxiety and other defeats.

Makes no sense to me. Having social anxiety is no way to garner the attention of others. From my own perspective it's more likely to repel those more socially inclined. Having social anxiety is simply something to overcome. Not capitalize on.

I have never met someone like that.

Are you certain that the other people at the social anxiety meet up don't have social anxiety? Perhaps they simply have milder symptoms.
It's a good thing I dont have arachnophobia, there's just an astonishing amount of spiders out here. Walk outside to go water the plants, walk through 3 webs. Go to turn the water on, spiders on the handle. Grab the nozzle, get into position, spiders fall off of it. Turn around, another spider sorta Tarzan-swings past my face somehow. Some packages from Amazon on the porch, surprise, there's spiders on them.

I think cute is just the right word for some of them.

@Rodafina Ya know, the close-up photos you often post are really rather amazing. Do you take them yourself?
Rodafina

@Misery, I am happy to hear that.

Yes, they are photos I have taken. Macro photography is a particular fascination of mine.
Weekend vacation time is over. Now I am waiting at the Amtrak station waiting for a train to take me closer to home.
Why do people like loud cars?

Do they want attention?

Loudness is a cultural norm and it can be a drug. The more you're exposed to it the more you acclimatise. Ie: the 'loudness war' in media, loud concerts, nightclubs, fireworks, sporting events, industrial noise, busy cities etc. loudness is everywhere.

Men like noisy things that go bang, it makes them happy and lowers cortisol levels. Men enjoy the thrill of spectating an F1 race, or attending an airshow, it doesnt have to be pathological

Interestingly, heavy metal guitar mimics the violent death throes of a wounded prey animal, arousing the kill instinct of the hunter.

A lot of this is hardwired, with some cultural conditioning.

Yes I think it's mostly men competing with other men, thinking this is what will get them attention. It doesn't really matter if that's not what women are attracted to.
Had a public meltdown at IHOP with my social anxiety group. They don't have social anxiety. I could not get a word in the conversation. Was constantly interrupting. Then everyone talked about their successful jobs travel.

Exactly.

Since people aren't like goldfish bowls, it's not possible to
see inside them, to know how they are feeling. Functioning
well may be difficult for them, even though it doesn't show.

how do the public meltdowns occur? do you just yell or scream out in public?
It's a strange feeling when you wake up early.
FayetheAspie

As long as it is not super early or I'm not super tired already, I often seem to feel more energetic if I get up an hour or two early.
I thought I could overindulge on food on this vacation day, but now I just feel like vomiting. Stupid me.

It's a lesson learned for the next vacation.

"Better out than in", as Shrek would say.
Is it necessary to have a presence on social media as a young person?
I don't have an instagram or a snapchat.. I'm unsure of how much it hurts my chances of finding a gf. I think perhaps people view people without these things with suspicion or something similar.

@honeytoast Yeah, I don't use any of the five you listed either. I've read some things that were open to the general public on a couple of them before but I don't post anything and don't have an account I could tell you how to go to. A past job required something, Facebook I think, but I never used it.

I think people are asking for a Snapchat or something equal to that, because it's a little less personal than a phone number. At least how I see it.

@honeytoast It gives a conversation starter and updates people on your life without doing it 1-1. I think this is main thing here.
