It is like the Fourth of July outside right now and I am in sensory hell.

Reminded me what a good investment my ear protectors with a -34 db noise reduction rating have been over the years. Most often used for the landscapers with their leaf blowers. ;)

Be glad you're not a dog. At least you understand what's going on. Dog is just terrified.
The Seahawks are playing today and one of my neighbors is celebrating by lighting up mini sticks of loud dynamite every time they score.

Perhaps one of them will have a short fuse and fix the problem for you.

I'll be celebrating by not watching the Super Bowl at all.
I was just watching Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, and it had me thinking - Paul Reubens did not deserve the negative media attention he got for being in an adult theater and doing what most of the other guys were doing in there.

One of the problems with being famous and well loved is that one ends up with a target on one's back.

I think this is a universal rule, like the one that says "For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction."

They may be the same rule, now that I think about it...
Fun fact: Sheep are actually very intelligent and can recognize facial expressions (better than me). So, when someone calls you a sheep, they're calling you smart.

I visited Buffalo jump in Alberta, Canada, the site where 6000 years ago Blackfoot hunters dressed up as coyotes and wolves and herded buffalo off a 11 metre cliff. Injured Buffalo were finished off by other warriors at bottom. Bones are buried 12 meters deep.

A friend was going to visit me tonight, but he just texted and said he was sick the last couple of days. Ah, well. I still have company coming tomorrow.
Fun fact: Male cassowaries are basically stay at home dads (females are typically bigger), raising the babies.

Emus too. Males build the nest and hatch the eggs and raise the young.
I am now becoming content with how my local social life is developing. Life is improving. If it can happen for me, it can happen for almost anyone else.
I find the weather rather chilling this morn.

I am contemplating the value of clearing the drive, and trying to talk myself out of doing what I have to do :) .

I succumbed to doing the Friday laundry. A tad easier than clearing a driveway though. ;)

LOL...

I'm still drinking coffee, very slowly.
Fun fact: Turtles' sex is determined by the temperature of their nest (cooler/male; warmer/female).

Snapping turtle females travel from wherever they are to the place they hatched in order to lay their eggs. Turtles have made that same historic journey for millions of years.

This is why people find snappers crossing busy roads in the spring.

Are you saying male turtles are cold blooded bastards and female turtles are hotties?

Not just turtles, many reptiles are the same.
I lost 40 lbs in the last 4 months. I used to be 330lbs. Now I am a little under 290.

40 in 4 months? Wow that's a lot! That's very impressive work and effort.
Fun fact: Koalas have fingerprints similar to humans. They're even good enough to fool some forensics.

Cat's out of the bag. I've been breeding gangs of koala pickpockets.

I'll have to switch to squirrels.
I have been introducing a rainbow of veggies into my diet the last month. Leafy greens go well with garlic, I have discovered.

Well done. Wish I could be more motivated along such lines.
