Something random about Kevin Federline's style

The man known for loping alongside the pop star in frayed baggy jeans and tank tops knows is a "laid-back guy," he says, "not too complicated. Kind of quiet."

He isn't apologizing for his old look, no way, although he admits he did overdose on floppy velour sweat suits. "I had about 20 or 30," he says. "I gave some away to my brothers." But his basic uniform of jeans and T-shirt was one he adopted as a kid, "and I'm always going to wear that. That's what's comfortable to me."

So are the sagging, oversized jeans?he buys them in size 36 waist, though he's really a 34?that so often leave his underwear exposed. "It's not intended?you're bending over to get in the car and there they are."

One reason for the weight gain? He had stopped exercising and started eating too much.

?I drank 12-24 cans of soda a day, not diet. That was my coffee, that was my candy, that was my cake. I didn?t drink coffee, eat candy; I didn?t eat cake. I ate pizza, macaroni and cheese and all that, so the combination of the two just added up real fast," he, 31, says, "so between not working out, and turning 30 years old, [the weight] started coming on real fast."

"I couldn't run around with my children as much," he says, "and was being lazy and over-eating. I've always been a fit guy, so those were wake-up calls for me."

"I should just put a bulls-eye on my back. If I stay home and take care of my wife and kids, then I am a loafer, not a good father. If I try to have a career, nobody thinks I am caring for my family. I can't win."

?I went through a lot of bad record deals,? he describes. ?I put all my energy into staying focused to keep going, always telling myself never to give up and quit.?

This is what I really like!

With his newfound success, he can have the finer things in life, but remains humble. ?I?m a simple kind of guy,? he says. ?I?m happy with my Hummer; it?s the ultimate SUV. This is my third one.? His black 2003 Hummer H2 rides on 28-inch MHT Big Homie 8 Lug black and chrome wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Zero 352/35R28 tires. When he wants to go old school, he rides around in a 1972 Pontiac LeMans with 22-inch Hyphy Velocity wheels and Hankook Ventus V4 ES tires. ?It?s a classic,? he describes. ?I can sell it if I?m ever doing bad.?

Unfortunately, there're no Hummers now.

Writing is so therapeutic, especially in a controlled setting. Now, well, I am feeling less cranky now.
