Do You Believe In God?

jimited;53641 said:
AND WE ARE ALL JUSTIFIED IN WHAT WE BELIEVE.
The jihadists who brought down the World Trade Center did it because they believed they are fighting for the muslim cause in the name of religion, I fail to see how this is justified, this is just one example.

I also believe in God, because I have traveled the Crow Creek Pass in Alaska, and I was in such awe, that I knew there must be a God.
If god was that powerful and created this place in Alaska then he must be a sadomasochist because of the MILLIONS of people who suffer and die each and every day through famine, genocide, disease and natural disasters. according to the bible he created the WHOLE earth not just some of it so why did he create land that is hospitable to life yet people have no choice but to endure living in these places where most suffering takes place? And god created ALL living things so why did he create germs, viruses and disease?

If there were no bad in the world, then what virtue would there be in doing something good? What consequence would there be for making a poor decision? How do you know that germs are a bad thing? If you were a germ and God did not create a host for you to infect, wouldn't you think he was a bad god? My perspective goes far beyond what you question here, and having things in this world that we do not understand, does not make God mean, any more than it does to prove that he does not exist.

Why are you posting responses to the "Do you believe in God?" thread here? Your responses are much more likely to be seen if you post them in the thread.

To use only the Jihadist as an example of religious reasons to kill is not fair assumption. For religious reasons millions have died through out history in and for the glory of god as perceived by who ever was in power at the time. There are a number of "Popes" for example, whom are Christians, that were involved with the wars referred to as "The Crusades". If one really thinks about it, "The Crusades" are still going on.
