Topic.

I have Chromebook Desktop at Home (stop laughing, my Brother bought it for Christmas 2014) and until now it's always worked.

Chromebooks may not be "cool" but they work.

Although I'd like to own a Windows 10 PC at some point for animation and game development software, or even a Mac if they had games.

You might check inside your browser to see what version of Adobe's flash player you are presently running.

Sometimes security issues force browser vendors to render such plug-ins inoperative, until you install the latest plug-in that is considered "safe" by the browser manufacturer. And they don't always immediately notify you of such.

I do know that NPAPI plug-ins are rapidly being discarded by browser vendors because of inherent security issues.

The flash player are included in the chrome packages for Chrome OS. So any updates to Flash is automatically included in the latest system updates and you only need to update the system.

I'm not a Chrome user myself. A nice feature to have when it's intrinsic to the OS. Assuming it works as it's supposed to.

Flash with Firefox is supposed to automatically update based on Adobe's prompt options. But I've found they don't always work as they should. If the process fails for whatever reason...the process isn't as automated as it's supposed to be. But I have no idea why it happens on rare occasion. It's just annoying if it stops working and you find the plug-in has been disabled for security reasons until it's updated.

That's my understanding.

Gotcha. Long time ago too! Can't believe I didn't even notice. But then I only had such issues with my legacy system and not this computer. Ran my legacy system and it runs YouTube's HTML5 player ok...but then the browser is fully updated even on a Windows XP platform. But then I don't normally run that system for online use anyways.

I just disabled my Firefox flash plug-in ...to see if it even matters now.
