I don't understand your point, because it's too vague. If you take a look at the members online or report a post, you will see who is there and who responds.

This site is becoming quite right-wing too. A lot of harmful content is being tolerated and I'm slowly leaving, honestly. Moderators fail to take responsibility for what is being posted and act as if someone posting about violence is fine, but someone outraged at something sick, convoluted or harmful and outrageous is "making fuss" and silence the victims, not the perptrators. This is called "blame shifting". Maybe they see it as "woke agenda", which is defilitely right-wing. Just look how religious (often in a bad way) and conservative this site is recently
The story:
There used to be a mix of conservative, centrist, and progressive members, maybe 7 years ago(?) (Don't quote me), but it wasn't harmonious, mainly because the centrists and conservatives claimed virtually all the mods were left-wing biased.
There was a mini revolution, and it was decided to add new mods and an actual admin (Alex was virtually never there).
At first, there was a belief that a more politically egalitarian structure had been created, but that didn't last.
It became clear that there was little tolerance for anything other than politically left-leaning content.
This realisation was the catalyst for the creation of a new autistic website called "Neurovoice", from memory.
Most of the conservatives and centrists left and either went to the new website or drifted off into the void.
Today, the political left has decisively claimed WP.
The END.![]()
You are correct. That forum needed to disappear and Alex as well as Cornflake are despicable “moderators.”And nothing of value was lost.
Please don't leave, your input here is genuinely interesting, logical, and unique! This site is becoming quite right-wing too. This is why I initially left here in 2023. There were also some people on here back then (who don’t seem to be active anymore) who were pretty loud about disliking me and finding me annoying, who made me feel extremely unwelcome.Yeah, this is pretty much how I've felt for quite awhile, though I rarely speak of it.
I dont post or interact as much as I used to, and I'm *drastically* more guarded than I was a couple of years ago.
I had gotten a lot of very good help from here, when I posted about a particularly heavy topic I was dealing with. Helped me a lot. But if my timeline had been different, and today was when I was having to confront that, there's no bloody way I'd make that topic now. Heck even just the way I'm talking here, directly naming it feels like a bad move, so I'm not going to do it. Though I think there are a few here who likely know what I'm talking about.
I'm not exactly sure what happened... I'm not good at tracking events like that... but this aint the same safe place it used to be.
Golly that sounds like a lot of stuff happening.
I left WP very shortly after finding this place. WP had become... problematic. I dont mean politically. I mean just overall. It was very chaotic. A lot of explosive arguments and things like that just all the time, is what I remember.
Also the place had a LOT of trolls & bots during the time when I was frequenting it. I dont mean like, political trolls. I mean the real, old-school type that you actually dont see very often these days. I never quite figured out what made the place such a magnet for them.
Maybe Alex will take this opportunity to upgrade the software that drives WP.
I'm surprised it ever leaned right. The politics on that site was so extreme when I visited that even moderates/independent thinkers could not post anything without getting censored or attacked, all with the moderators support.WP is dedicated to the left side of politics these days, particularly to the LGBT+ community.
There was a time it was dominated by the right, but that was a glitch and happened long ago.
Do you have any examples? I'm genuinely curious because I haven't seen it.This site is becoming quite right-wing too. A lot of harmful content is being tolerated and I'm slowly leaving, honestly. Yeah that rings a bell. the 500% rise in charges (seems awfully steep) is what Alex flagged as potentially spelling the death knell for the site. I'm not an IT person but I am know the platform architecture hasn't changed from 2005. Compared to modern social media sites, wrong planet is a snapshot of the early days of the internet. I'm kind of nostalgic for Myspace and BBS chat forums and wrong planet kind of satisfies my preferences as an interface. Most people came to wrong planet as a resource repository for autism rather than a social site. Like a dusty old book collection.
I have a love hate relationship with that site.
It did help me a lot when I was on there.
I don’t know where would have been without that to express my thoughts.
I also got a bunch of good advice at the time.
A may have saved my life in in retrospective
Although there were problems, it wasn’t perfect.
I still couldn’t imagine never knowing it.
