would it be appropriate?

In my last therapy session my therapist and I discussed some things that might have really bothered her. She shouted at me demanding to know my age preference when it comes to women and asked if I think it would be okay for her to date a 17 year old? Then she told me that her friends would think she was crazy if she did that.
Anyway would that have been an appropriate time for me to tell her that I think she?s like totally hot? I of course didn?t but I?m kinda thinking now that maybe I should have?

I'm not sure what difference would it make? And hold It, did you say that you like younger women and then she started yelling at you? If that's the case, you comment would probably make her yell some more... Why did she ask that question? But anyway, the whole situation seems a little weird to me :)

she called up later and said she wasn't shouting and apologized for making me uncomfortable.

Sounnds a little weird to me too. I may be really bad at reading people or it seems this therapist has some kind of personal interest and got emotional when OP said a younger age

It happens therapists are people too they can get triggered too. My thought is something you said triggered that response from her. I am glad she apologized. However...Its probably a good thing that you didn't tell her that she was hot. That makes people in her position uncomfy...and uncomfy enough that she might try to switch you to male provider so I wouldn't do that. It just causes more trouble than its worth. Though I am sorry that it seemed like she was yelling at you and I am glad she apologized too.

then I guess I did the right thing.

Yup you did the right thing. Its hard to remember sometimes but therapists are human too. They make mistakes and she probably misunderstood what you were saying or meaning by what you said. I hope this helps.
