Masked Man

The things that didn't kill me made me stranger
V.I.P Member
This past 2 weeks has been a real trial for our office. It has come to light that a manager apparently has some severe mental health issues that several of our staff was not aware of. This manager, among other things, apparently has been soliciting employees for drugs, money, and who knows what else. Now that this person has been fired, they are harassing employees by sending text messages, leaving notes on their car, and even showing up at their homes.

As one of the clinic leads, I have had more staff come to me in private to tell me things that have been done to them. I've had to show more empathy and restraint in the past 10 days than I ever have. I've come home exhausted every day.

It has been a trial. I hope it gets better.

Oh gosh, that sounds like a lot all at once to handle. I hope it gets resolved soon. Maybe it would be best to contact law enforcement to make them aware that this guy has been harassing multiple people?

Be sure to take some time for yourself as well.

Thanks.

Yes, we involved security today, which has a business agreement with our local police department.

It's been a very weird 2 weeks. This is a manager I've worked with for a few years. I did not see any of this coming.

Be careful and don't hesitate to report this person to law enforcement if you feel like you or anyone else is in danger. Hopefully nothing will escalate, but it does sound like a situation that could be dangerous.

You weren't aware that he was asking for money/drugs etc.
Apparently he never asked you. (?)
More like I did not expect this person to have these issues or be capable of them.

These are things I would personally never dream of doing to another person. I guess this is projecting my own qualities onto another person again, which can lead to judging a person incorrectly.

When I would speak to this person over the years, I never noticed any hint of mental issues. I suppose it's possible these behaviors were just never directed towards me because they thought they could not get anything from me.

I don't know. It's a mystery.
