What advice has helped you get through life? I always like to try and get helpful advice to help myself improve and grow as an individual. I like to take the time to learn from others to make better changes in my life.
 
I always enjoy the fragments of Heraclitus. I know some people hate this translation, but I think it's fun. And some other (academic) editions are also fairly expensive. (Though I use them too.)

You get what you give in life.

Don't go dreaming in the realms of What If, you can get lost in there. You play with the cards you've been dealt.
 
Probably the single biggest shift in how I understood things came from The Last Messiah, helping click the last inches into place. There isn't any real advice on how to live there, but it gives you a framework with which to understand motivation, both your own and that of others. And that was huge for me as I had never come across a comprehensive model for human motivation before. Up until then I only saw people that tended to leave that side of ourselves alone to preserve the sanctity of the sense of self. To stay immersed in living and not look behind the wizard's curtain.

The Last Messiah

I believe when used right, you can really orient yourself to what you care about and want to achieve, and what is only a secondary desire crafted by underlying circumstance.

1. Don't waste your energy trying to be like everyone else.
2. At no point in human history has anyone, ever, made advances in any field, occupation, the arts, etc. by doing things the same. It is always someone with a neurodivergent mind that either "reinvents the wheel" by "first principles" thinking (example, Elon Musk), perhaps sees multiple ways of performing an action, and/or keeps asking questions until an epiphany occurs.
3. If we are to survive as humans, it is imperative that high-intellect autistics are there to come up with these advances. They are most likely the neurodivergent ones, the one's to take "deep dives" into topics, and whom understand the "first principles" on any given topic, can focus and come up with new ideas, and push us forward. Whereas, most of the neurotypical population will have a tendency to embrace the "safety and predictability" of sameness and will have no thoughts or desires to improve, in fact, will often resist change, and are perfectly content in the way things are.

Be nice. You don't know what is going on in that person's life.

Help someone whenever you can.

Look around with gratitude.

Ask God.
 
Never lose your sense of humor or grow one if you don't have one. Sometimes the best way to get through tough times is to distract yourself with laughter.

And never focus too much on the pain as it's usually temporary .. think back in your past and look at all the hard times that you eventually got through.. it will pass.
