Why So Many Ads???

I think the VIP thing will do it, maybe?

Or adblockers. Honestly I dont know how anyone even uses the internet without them. Granted if you're on a phone, that's a bit tougher...
 
I'm going to be here more now, being so I've been driven off another forum for being treated differently to others. I'm hoping I'll fit in more here.
Anyway the only thing I don't like about this site is the ads. I use the internet on my mobile phone and it isn't as easy to block the ads for free on a mobile device, but I can't afford to pay. Does this site need to bombard us with ads or is there a way to stop them on a mobile device?
 
I probably wouldn’t use this site if it weren’t for the VIP upgrade. Best therapy money ever spent. Check under the cushions and make it happen.
 
Yeah honestly, I'm sorry y'all. The number of ads on this site is ridonk.

Straight up just had to install an adblocker on my tablet to make using it on mobile usable. Cause otherwise I'm getting ads doing stuff like blocking content, blocking where you type replies, or just popping up and making me accidentally click them instead of what I meant to click.

Like I understand, y'all gotta have ads to help support the site, I get that but like the way it is now is just ridiculous.

Most of us don’t see them because of ad blockers or VIP membership. But, technically they help all of us.
 
I can't use this forum on my phone due to so many ads so I have to use a ad free browser and it's a lot easier to reason this place.

Why do the Admins allow this many ads here? Just curious.
 
I agree, is not just the ads is the resources this ads scripts eat... like my browser says the landing page is 794 MB

To put things on perspective Windows 95 is 50MB and SimCity 4 is 256 MB.
 
I think i would quit the internet if i had to suffer through too many ads.
They say the police recommends using ad blockers all the time.

I use my phone now. I have a ad block browser I use if a website makes it inccessable for me because the ads cover my screen. I would use a ad blocker only for ads that cover texts or are in the middle of articles I'm trying to read.
 
I just found this thread when I didn't see it before when I made my other one.

Not everyone uses desktop for internet. I use my phone these days. I don't use desk top anymore.

I would use an adblock browser I downloaded from the play store. Circled in photo.

BTW, someone gifted me VIP. That was a surprise and I wish I can thank them.

So many people use adblock due to how intrusive they are. I know some websites block your access unless you turn off adblock. Youtube cracked down on it but sadly it made it unusable for me on my desktop because the website still thought I had on a adblocker. I switched to Edge on there because of it and moved onto my phone and I use my TV set for YouTube.

I dont mind ads if they're not intrusive.

I really don't know what firefox etc is doing with the memory, i open youtube and another page and it consumes like 3 gb of memory. What is being so heavy?
