Why are people obsessed with love?

The simple answer to the OP title is genetics. It's biological and a built in urge to make sure the
planet continues to be replenished. We could have just been created only for sex urges.
Man rapes woman, woman becomes pregnant, and humans continue to multiply.
Another genetic biological process would have to come into play in that scenario for success:
The Mother instinct. Otherwise the babies would have just been ignored and uncared for.

However our genetic DNA was created, the sensation of romantic love was probably
a better way to make a family nucleus which insured a better chance for future generations.
For some reason THAT seems to be an important goal in humans and animals. Procreation.
Survival of living beings on the planet.
If anyone could answer the reason for this, you'd have the answer as to why the planet was
created with sentient life forms to begin with.

Doubt it had anything to do with songs. But, when man started to create arts and singing
it came natural to put something that had so much meaning into the interpretation of
everyday life for the majority.
That's the most logical and concise reason as to why people are obsessed with love.

Yeah a lot of music is pretty basic.
You gotta look for the interesting things
There's a metal band I like that focuses on military history - most of their songs are about real life battles and military units - the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, the Chasseurs Ardennais, The battle of Prague, the battle of Shiroyama, and the end of the Zulu empire.
There are a Lot of really interesting and weird bands out there you just have to find them

look for music that connects with what you're interested in.
I know of a Finish metal band with a dinosaur theme.
Not saying it's always good just that there's a lot of variety if you look for it.
